TFT LCD display common circuit defect causes and solutions

 

In the TFT-LCD LCD module, according to the formation of different reasons and different positions and shapes, line defects can be divided into screen damage line defects, screen short-circuit line defects, short-circuit line faults between terminals, and abnormal drive defects, etc. For the phenomena and causes of each line defect, please refer to the following table.

 

Screen damage and short circuit are usually due to factors such as dust pollution of the screen itself in the production process, drive abnormal line defects are the problems of the drive circuit, several other types of line defects and display terminal processes, these types of line faults can be adjusted by the drive circuit, replace COF/COG and other methods to achieve the repair of line defects.

 

LCD cable defects are the most common defects. Wire breakage is the main defect of data line. Introducing the design countermeasures of wire breakage repair in display design can greatly improve the product pass rate.

 

Repair methods are mainly divided into two design countermeasures: under screen repair and on screen repair.

 

1. Off-screen repair design:

 

Through the off-screen alignment, the data signal is transmitted synchronously to the dotted line that cannot be displayed normally, so as to realize the normal operation of the display.

 

2. Repair design on broken screen:

 

It can be achieved through pixel design. By borrowing the path on the pixel, the conductive disconnection of the upper and lower parts of the data line can be achieved, which can save the off-screen repair design often used in the amplifier OP and reduce the cost of product development. Different display modes, different borrowing paths, different pixel structures and the corresponding repair design are different.
