The data output by the P0 port of the single-chip microcomputer is equivalent to short-circuiting the digital segment that the digital tube does not display to the ground, so that the digital tube will display the required number.
The hardware of the common cathode digital tube is simpler, so in mass production, the hardware cost is small, the PCB area is saved, the welding workload is reduced, and the overall cost is reduced, so the use of the common cathode digital tube is more conducive to mass production.
